For a development language, it is hard to say which is good or not. But still many people interested to discussing this topic. For example it is mentioned in Flex vs. Ajax — both have their pros and cons. The Mr. Lee Brimelow has written the article Six reasons to use ActionScript 3.0 and tried to explain the advantage of the ActionScript. How to install the necessary components and build a very basic map using google maps in flex

In this tutorial you will how to install the necessary components and build a very basic map. This tutorial will be done using Adobe Flex Builder, but you are also able to use the Flex SDK if you prefer. Google has information(http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/flash/index.html) regarding that process on their site. Start off by downloading the Google Maps SDK and applying for a developers API key. Once you have both of these pieces, you can start setting up your work environment. Locate the “sdk.zip” file that you downloaded (normally on your Desktop) and unzip the contents. Inside the “sdk/lib” directory you will find a map_flex_1_1.swc file. Copy this file to a known location on your computer. Most often your documents directory. This file will be loaded into Flex later on in the process. Now that you have the SWC moved out of the sdk directory, start Flex Builder and create a new project (File > New Flex Project). Using Compiler Argument -keep-generated-actionscript in Flex Builder Project to view/study These Automatically Generated Classes

As you know, all MXML files are converted to ActionScript Classes which are later compiled in SWF file. If you want to view / study these automatically generated classes, you can use Compiler Argument -keep-generated-actionscript in Flex Builder Project.

We have been seeing lot of blog posts that compares Adobe AIR and Silverlight. Maybe someone the same with me not like big developers like them,I can’t accept this comparison.

Microsoft Silverlight is a browser plugin and is sort of similar to Adobe’s Flash Player and Flex Framework taken together.

Adobe AIR is cross platform desktop runtime that allows developers to build desktop applications using web technologies, it has no real equivalent in the Microsoft world.

What Is Adobe/Macromedia Flex?

As a web developer you’ve often found yourself wishing there was a way to make web applications that weren’t limited to the heavy restrictions of HTML. You’ve used JavaScript to make your forms a little more intuitive with dynamic/context driven comboboxes, but to do anything more often requires heavy amounts of JavaScript and DHTML.
